Oliver, thank you for the very sweet comment. It's pleasure to be part of your newsvine circle of friends. =]
Welcome aboard friend.
The reason we may be contributing to the cartels by buying marijuana is only because it is illegal, assuring huge profits. Just as alcohol related crimes vanished after the repeal of prohibition, so will these pot related problems simply go away with legalization. Why is this so hard to understand?

Oliver,
thank you for your kind note. I understand skepticism, as the current president ran his campaign based on a complete lie. I don't think, however, that Obama is doing that, and there's really no evidence in the 20 months that he is not genuine. He has been remarkably consistent throughout, while McCain is clearly saying whatever he thinks will get him elected even if it contradicts something he said the day before. Remember the gas tax? Clinton and McCain were all over that thing, because it resonated with voters, even though every economist said that it would have no real effect. Obama was the only one with the courage to stand against that very popular notion.
I'm glad you have an open mind. If you would read my most recent column you will see that I think that many people who oppose Obama for various reasons will be very surprised and pleased with his performance.
I do think you should re-think the idea of posting the exact same post in two separate threads. It's kind of like a robocall.
